⚠️ Important: Your location may be collected (with your consent) and saved to your account for anti-fraud and safety features. Your documents (ID images, bills, clearances) are strictly private and never public. Only you and authorized admins can access them for verification/fraud prevention.

eSelf helps people share a public verification snapshot (badges, trust score, limited profile) to reduce fraud and scams. Your ID documents are never public. Your location may be collected with your consent and saved to your account for anti-fraud and safety features. You can turn location tracking off and/or delete it.

1) Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using eSelf, you agree to this User Agreement and our Privacy Policy (together, the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2) Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be 18 years or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your information and the security of your account credentials.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for policy violations, fraud, or legal risk.

3) What eSelf Does (and Doesn’t) Do

eSelf provides a verification snapshot so others can quickly assess identity and risk signals you choose to share.

The snapshot may include: name, profile photo (optional), verification badges (e.g., Government ID, Address, Police/NBI), trust score, status (e.g., “Verified,” “Fully Verified,” “Reported”), and last verified date.

Not a guarantee. The trust score and badges are indicators only and are not a guarantee of identity, safety, or law-enforcement clearance. Always use independent judgment.

4) Your Content & Verification Data

You may upload or submit identity documents, selfies, address proofs, and related information (“Verification Data”). You also control whether to show a public verification link/QR.

  • Private by default. Your actual documents and images (e.g., ID photos, bills) are not public.
  • Who can access documents? Only you and authorized administrators/verification staff may access Verification Data for support, compliance, or fraud prevention.
  • Public snapshot is limited. The public page shows limited fields only (e.g., name, badges, score, status, last verified date, profile photo if provided). It does not expose your documents.
  • You represent that the data you submit is yours, accurate, and lawful to use. Uploading forged or stolen IDs is prohibited.

5) Location, Risk, and Tracking

  • With your explicit consent, the App may collect your device location (approximate or precise) to generate risk signals, reduce fraud, and help you prove presence at a time/place.
  • What is saved: latitude, longitude, accuracy, time, and source (e.g., “html5”).
  • How it is used: fraud prevention, verification reviews, abuse detection, analytics, and safety-related features.
  • How to control: you can disable location permissions in your device or App settings and you may delete saved location from your account.
  • Not shared publicly. Location information is not shown on the public profile. It is available to you and authorized admins for risk/anti-fraud purposes.

Warning / Consent: “Your location may be saved when you enable location features. Your documents remain private and are only used for verification; no one can access them except you and authorized admins, and they are never displayed publicly.”

6) Reviews, Reports & Moderation

  • Users may submit reports or comments about a profile. If a report is validated, a user’s status may be set to “Reported.”
  • We may store reporter comments and related metadata for audit and safety.
  • We reserve the right to remove content, limit access, or disable accounts suspected of fraud or abuse.

7) Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Engage in fraud, impersonation, or deception.
  • Upload illegal, stolen, or forged content.
  • Misuse data (e.g., scraping, harvesting, or doxxing).
  • Circumvent security or disrupt the App.
  • Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights.

8) Communications

You consent to receiving service-related emails/SMS (e.g., verification or security alerts). You can opt out of non-essential communications.

9) Data Protection & Privacy

  • We process personal data under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and applicable law.
  • Data is encrypted in transit, and we apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.
  • We may use service providers (e.g., hosting, storage, analytics) bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • You have rights to access, correct, delete, and withdraw consent, subject to exceptions required by law or legitimate interests (e.g., fraud prevention).

10) Data Retention

Verification Data and audit logs may be retained while your account is active and for a period after closure to comply with law, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes.

Location records are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes above and can be deleted by you from your account controls (subject to technical and legal limits).

11) Public Links & QR Codes

If you share your public link or QR, anyone with the link can view your public snapshot (not your documents). You are responsible for where you post or show your link/QR.

12) Intellectual Property & License

The App, trademarks, and content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the App in accordance with these Terms. You grant us a license to host and process your content for operating and improving the App.

13) Feedback

If you provide feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to use it without restriction.

14) Third-Party Services

The App may integrate third-party providers (e.g., cloud hosting, maps, analytics, identity storage). We are not responsible for third-party terms or availability.

15) Disclaimers

THE APP, SCORES, AND BADGES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY USER IS SAFE, TRUSTWORTHY, OR CRIME-FREE. ALWAYS EXERCISE CAUTION AND INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT.

16) Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR PHP 10,000, WHICHEVER IS LOWER.

17) Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates from claims arising from your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or law.

18) Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or present risk. You may close your account at any time.

19) Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. We will provide notice of material changes (e.g., in-app or email). Continuing to use the App after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

20) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Makati City, Philippines, unless otherwise required by mandatory law. Before filing suit, the parties will attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation.

Authorized Admin — Trained personnel granted access for support, compliance, and fraud prevention.
